Fulham
Goalkeeper
Another solid keeper graces the pitch at Craven Cottage, and rumours of a move seemed to have calmed down this summer following last years intensity. As it now looks like Mark Schwarzer will stay another year at least it isn't too problematic, while a new back up has been brought in already this summer.
Defence
Never really been a problem at the club, and they still have the solid backline that former manager Roy Hodgson breathed so much confidence into. Brede Hangeland and Philippe Senderos are big imposing centre half's, while they now have flair at the left side with new signing John Arne Riise.
Midfield
Here Fulham could maybe be lacking that bit of quality needed in the centre of park. Captain Danny Murphy has been a terrific servant but he isn't getting any younger, out wide though they are solid. Flair players Damien Duff and Clint Dempsey, one of the Premier League's most underrated, continue to perform fantastically.
Forwards
If as widely expected Andy Johnson moves onto pastures new, another body would be needed up top. Moussa Dembele and Bobby Zamroa, and Dempsey who can in he forward positions, can't carry the burden themselves. It is widely known that a Premiership team needs four solid front men.
Manager
Jol is still very well liked through England, and many fans still aren't impressed with the way he was let go by Spurs. Including many Spurs fans themselves. He has plenty of experience, and could be another little gem at the Cottage.
Areas to Strengthen
Another midfield player of real quality wouldn't go a miss in the side, neither would an added striker. Other than that it could be a matter of adding a little strength in depth.
Expectations
Fulham are another side that due to over performing, expectations have risen. A top half finish will be the least that is expected, and a decent showing in Europe would cheer the faithful up no end.

Everton
Goalkeeper
Tim Howard has transformed himself since his move to Merseyside from Manchester United in 2006. He has proved himself to be once of the league most reliable, and could be partly thanked for keeping Everton surging up the league year upon year. In Back up, last years signing Jan Mucha still waits for a sniff of a chance.
Defence
There are some very solid performers contained within this back four, something that is emphasised by the persistent rumours linking many of them away. Joseph Yobo could well depart, but Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka are also getting the rumours treatment this summer. Tony Hibbert proves to be ever reliable and Phil Neville is still going strong, if Moyes can keep hold of these this shouldn't be too much of a problem next term.
Midfield
Another area that is strong, but similarly to the Defence it is all on the surface with strength in depth very questionable. Leon Osman continues to perform at the highest level, while Jack Rodwell and Marouane Fellaini are two more of this squad surrounding rumours they are soon to be off to pastured new. It is of no doubt though that Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill are the crown jewels of this side, their performances crucial to the success of the side. And as it looked like they could stay, Everton could be set for another good finish next term. Although Diniyar Bilyaletdinov still continues to divide opinion.
Forward
Possibly the weakest part of this side. Louis Saha, when fit is a tremendous striker, but that is all too rare. Jermaine Beckford performed OK after his free transfer from Leeds United, while Yakubu was farmed out on loan to Leicester City and doesn't seem to have a future at the club. Their are however some exiting youngster in the ranks, Joao Silva and Magaye Gueye are definite prospects.
Manager
David Moyes seems to have performed miracles here, and they should be thankful he loves the club so much that he continues to stay. The Scot is ingrained in the fabric of Everton now, and could be here for years to come.
Areas to Strengthen
If players leave they will definitely need to be replaced as numbers are thin, but apart from free transfers and nominal fees selling could be the only way to raise funds. A prolific striker needs to be added, an injury prone main striker and goals from Midfield can only get you so far.
Expectations
Despite the small squad and budget such is the job that Moyes has done at Everton, expectations continue to rise. The Premier League will be the most fiercely competitive for years, but a top half finish should definitely be achieved.

Chelsea
Goalkeeper
Everyone knows who the number one is here, and next season will be no different. Petr Cech will keep his place between the sticks, hoping to put what have been increasingly frequent mistakes, by his standards, over the last few seasons to one side. New signing Thibaud Courtois has arrived and departed on loan already, so Ross Turnbull, remember him, will continue with deputy duties.
Defence
Typically very strong, and this season should be no different. With John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic and Alex they possess three big intimidating centre half's, which also couples as a terrific weapon at set pieces. New boy David Luiz, despite occasional erratic behaviour on the pitch, has already endeared himself to the fans and looks a great buy. With Ashley Cole and Jose Bosingwa they also have attacking wing backs, who can track back and forth up the touch line all day long.
Midfield
After a blistering start last season, the middle of the park seemed to go a bit stale. Frank Lampard failed to hit his trademark thunderbolts as often as usual, while his passing occasional went astray too. Ramires failed to live up to his fee, while some steel was lost, and will continue to be, due to Michael Essien's injury problems. Villas Boas could have a little work to do here, although the return of Yossi Benayoun will add much needed creativity.
Forwards
The debate continue to rage about Chelsea's front line, can a partnership be formed, who needs to leave and will they sign any one else. Mr Abramovich is certain to want a return on his £50m investment of Fernando Torres, and it is widely known he prefers a lone striker role. But with Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka, Saloman Kalou and the returning Daniel Sturridge to please is that possible? Well with support strikers it could certainly work, but putting a partner with the Spaniard up top would not.
Manager
Despite being just 33 years of age, Villas Boas already has a healthy reputation around Europe. Hence the reporter £13+ paid to secure his services from FC Porto, the highest ever for a manager. In his one season in charge of the Portuguesse giants he won four trophies, in the form of Supercup, Primeira Liga, Portuguesse Cup and Europa League (becoming the youngest manager to win a European competition). There is no reason he shouldn't succeed in London, but if he doesn't it could prove a very costly gamble.
Areas to Strengthen
At the back they remain as solid as ever, but it is at the other end where the problems could lie. The striker problem needs to be sorted whether that is with departures and arrivals, although there's no reason it can't be sorted internally. In Midfield a replacement for Essien needs to found, as it seems even if he does return he won't be at his best, injuries take their toll, or he won't return for too long. A bit more of a creative edge could also be sought.
Expectations
Abramovich covets the one trophy that has so far eluded him, and that is of course The Champions League. Many a manager have been sacked for failed to secure it, Avram Grant even went despite losing in the final...Due to a slip from Terry. A decent effort in that will need to be had, but that wont be enough. A Premier League title, or push for it, and domestic cup honours will also be sought.

Manager
It is of no doubt to any of the footballing world the massive impact Wenger has had on the English game, with his brand of football also a joy to behold. But the bottom line is good football only gets you so far, and trophies are what the paying fans, shareholders, owners and players crave. Another barren season and a man who is already starting to have his doubters, could just find himself out of a job.

Transfer flops: Helder Postiga
When a highly rated young striker heads to the Premier League from the continent, it is always a hugely exciting time for which ever side the prodigy chooses. That was exactly the case at Tottenham Hotspur in 2003, when Glen Hoddle brought an exciting Portuguese 21-year-old to White Hart Lane.
That man was of course Helder Postiga, the fleet footed exciting goal getter who arrived from Jose Mourinho's FC Porto for £6.25m. So what next for a young man who was tipped to reach the highest echelons of the football world? Surely a tremendous season in which he captured the imagination of fans worldwide?
Well it didn't exactly go to plan. A season that very much fell below the required standard was followed by a swift return to his native Portugal. After a solitary disappointing Premier League goal, FC Porto returned and rescued Postiga from his English nightmare with Pedro Mendes heading in the opposite direction.
This misguided attempt to conquer England seemed to have a big impact on the front man, and after four seasons back at Porto two loan switched followed. Saint Etienne was first up, quickly followed by a short stint in Greece with Panathinaikos. Sporting Clube de Portugal is where Postiga currently plies his trade, but how different a career this could've been had he been patient while in Portugal and not been so hasty to move on. Such a shame for a man who has an impressive record at international level, scoring 15 goals in 40 games for Portugal.

Future Stars - Coutinho
Brazilian Midfielder Philippe Coutinho, better known by just the latter, is one of the few things Rafael Benitez did right at Inter Milan. Giving the attack minded 19-year-old his Serie A debut in an otherwise unsuccessful stint in charge of the Nerazzurri.
Originally signed my Inter in 2008, red tape meant he was unable to ply his trade at the Italian giants until last year. Up until that point he was loaned back to his native country, where Vasco De Gama took him under their wing for two years.
Now officially in Milan, he has made quite an impression, and is one of many Brazilian players who could be charged with winning the World Cup on home soil. With the Samba nation currently going though something of a transitional period, a new breed, not too dissimilar to England, will be trusted with bringing back pride to a damaged nation after South Africa 2010.
Until that point an already promising club career will surely continue to prosper. Interest is already starting to come from around Europe, such has been his impression in such a short space of time.
